Deciding when to start your child in daycare is is a tough decision. Unfortunately, sometimes we need to make this decision before we are ready because we need to go to work. As a mother of six children, grandmother to six grandchildren and foster mom to 46 foster children, I truly understand the how hard this decision is. As parents, we love our children so deeply, and we need the peace of mind that we are making the right decision. Psychoanalyst, Gail Saltz, MD, an associate professor of psychiatry at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell School of Medicine in New York City stated that “Preschool is really for socialization, to introduce the idea that learning can be fun, and to teach kids how to share, compromise, and get along as a group.” To me this makes a lot of sense.
If we need to send our children to daycare because we have to work than that is the time to do so. If we are trying to make the decision to send our child to daycare for the socialization aspect than that is the time to do it. Nothing is written in stone to say if it is the right time or not. We all know our children, and I think that making this decision is harder on the parent than the child.
Choosing the Right Daycare Center
Now let’s look at important factors about how to pick a daycare. As a preschool owner, I recognize environment is so important for children, and I take pride in differentiating us from other daycare and preschools in Point Pleasant, NJ . We provide a home–like environment for children each and every day. Surrounding children with beautiful classrooms that are safe, luxurious, and educational is a priority for me as an owner and as a mother. I also understand that maintaining a clean daycare center is a must to ensure that children remain happy and healthy. Lastly, you will also need a daycare center staffed with loyal, educated, and caring teachers.
Entrusting someone else with the care of your child is not easy. The decision to enroll your child in daycare is often tougher on the parents than the children. Rest assured, we understand, as parents, the need for the peace of mind that comes with the knowledge that your child is safe and loved.
